Now you actually have a brand that is meaningful to you customers! You can start looking at how many potential customers you have in the area you want
to work in. If you have branded yourself as 'original rock' you need to look at how many places book 'original rock' bands. How many are there in the area you want to work in? How many if you
extend the area you are willing to travel across? If you are a 'Rock and Roll covers ' band you will be looking at a different set of potential customers to book you. How
many places around your area book bands? Write them down. What sorts of bands do each of them book? List who's been playing there and think about what they have in common. Be realistic. Each
venue knows what they book and if you want their work you have to present as what 'they' want. How many punters are there in the area who could go to the venue if they wanted to? How many
people will turn up and pay to see a local group in your hometown. What numbers have other people attracted? When you get away from numbers like 'heaps', 'hell of a lot', 'crowds', and get to
real numbers you are on your way.
