Take three musicians, paint them up, glue them together, and you have
Kitset, the latest pop sensations from the home of pop sensations, Dunedin.

Emitting waves of trans-dimensional trance pop, Kitset deliver haunting and beautiful songs from a platform of drums, guitar and keyboards.

Kitset are a band on a momentus ride. Having only been together since
November 1998, they have already recorded and released their debut album, Testpot, embarked on three successful national tours and are taking off to play Australia, the US and Britain towards the end of 1999.

The album Testpot is distributed through Flying In and available at good New Zealand record stores (like our ol' favourite, Records Records), or can be obtained globally through MP3.com.

and you can quote me on that...

"...this first offering from locals Kitset is a treat indeed. The three
piece...brew up a warm and endearing sound, steeped in the rich heritage of Dunedin music, from the legacy of the Clean, through to the present day...Testpot hails the guitar dynamics of David Kilgour, the density of Snapper, or the classic pop of the Chills and others. Current Radio One hit It's Open highlights the songwriting abilities of these folks, epic in scope, evoking a rainswept night at the top of Mt Cargill....Testpot is at least one piece of evidence that Dunedin music is in safe hands, but with these musicians having about thirty years playing experience between them, that should be no surprise."
Gavin Bertram - Critic 3/5/99

"Kitset's rising popularity is maybe due to their seamless  continuation of everything that is loved about the Dunedin sound, and their album sounds endearingly local without being annoyingly lo-fi. Some great songs too!"
Marcus Milk - Fink 7/3/99

"....it was a beautiful stuff. They were melodic, at times with hints of
Snapper-esque rhythmic drive and a large audience of people seemed very impressed. I sure was."
Steve Gallagher - City Life 24/2/99
