Originally formed simply to provide after match entertainment at their soccer club, Hogsnort Rupert have been writing and
performing music for over 30 years.Although the members are spread throughout the country, they still manage to remain productive and have just released a new album, 'Hypnotic'.
The music on the album is an
entertaining mixture of reggae, calypso and folk styles - a long way from the style of the eighties hit 'Life Begins at Forty' which was written and performed by three of the members as Dave and the Dynamos.
The
band's most successful song to date would have to be the single 'Pretty Girl'. In 1970 this song earned them several awards including the APRA trophy for the Most Successful Original Song.
